It occurred to her especially when she inserted the key into the keyhole. The door made of a piece of metal, was old and rusty and slightly broken with wrinkles and gaps. The keyhole was too clumsy to open unless the key was placed in exactly the right position. Mei pushed the door further, and a noise pushed her back with the last scream of a pig being killed. Right then, she had an immediate reaction to the immense darkness with such a chill that embraced her neck and touched a very raw nerve. She felt she was walking through the gates of hell and devils were whispering to her. It was not uncommon for her to expose some inner emotions once in a while to the invisible, the blackness. But deep down, she was entirely possessed by such a strong feeling, as if she had been swallowed by an evil spirit yet had survived.
